Woman Is Embracing Being A ‘Catfish’ While Preaching Self-Confidence—But Is She Taking It Too Far?

If you wear what is considered “a lot” of makeup, be warned, because, in today’s day and age, you may get labeled as a catfish for “disguising” your true appearance. Well, consider me a catfish because without makeup, I hardly have eyelashes—and that’s fine. What people do to their faces shouldn’t matter, right?

Well, Alicia, a mom from New York, has recently been showing off her “catfish” transformation on TikTok, and not everyone supports it. Overall, her videos have left some people shocked and concerned. Yet, some people are praising her (as they should) for embracing her “catfish” persona and being confident in herself while ignoring the haters.

Although makeup is not a form of catfishing, as it’s not creating a fictional persona or fake identity, it’s a term that is often used to criticize women who wear “too much makeup.”

Technically, you can be labeled as a catfish if what you look like with makeup is far different than what you look like without makeup.

Alicia goes by the TikTok username @princxssglitterhead and has over one million followers on the video-sharing platform.

She claims that she is known as the girl with the snap-in dentures who “is always taking her teeth out on the internet.”

Overall, Alicia’s videos focus mainly on her makeup transformation videos, while also trying to remove the stigma around losing your teeth or having to wear fake teeth.

She explains that tooth loss isn’t something to be embarrassed about. And if someone shames her for looking “weird” with no teeth, she says that she takes it with a grain of salt because they’re going to look the same way one day.

She’s Also Very Open About The Reason Why She Lost Her Teeth

When she was pregnant at 21, Alicia explains that she didn’t eat properly and “was not as healthy as I should have been. So the baby had to strip things out of my body that I didn’t know I didn’t have…mostly calcium from my teeth.”

Eventually, her teeth became hollow and brittle on the inside and started falling out.

The Viral Video

Alicia often includes before-and-after videos of herself after she’s done her makeup and inserted her dentures into her mouth.

This specific video of her showing how she gets ready each day went completely viral and now has nearly 30 million views on TikTok. And although lots of people are supporting her, some think that she’s doing too much.

Not Everyone Supports Her…

Not everyone is supportive of Alicia’s daily routine, with some calling it “witchcraft,” and “false advertising.”

And in response to a large amount of hate her videos get, Alicia just claims that she doesn’t care what other people think.

She Has Lots Of Supporters Too

So although not everyone was in support of her video, her comments were also flooded with positive messages.

At the end of the day, all that matters is that Alicia is comfortable in her own body and skin.

In a follow-up video about the same subject, Alicia claimed: “I am a happily married mom of fifteen years with 4 kids and I wear makeup for ME. I’m also a makeup artist with the same rights as anyone else to wear it.”

We are so here for Alicia’s confidence, and how she encourages everyone to feel comfortable in their own skin.
