‘I Don’t Want To Be Married To A Fatty’: Woman Goes On Date With Man Who Orders Her A Salad

It happened to one woman while on a first date, and she's shared the juicy details in a now-viral Reddit post.
Date Night
It's a Saturday night and you're about to go a date with a man you've recently met through a mutual friend. You style your hair, do your makeup, put on a nice dress, and look forward to what you hope will be a nice evening at a steakhouse.
Going out to dinner at a fancy restaurant is a treat, so you want to splurge on something delicious that you normally wouldn't cook at home.
"Can I Take Your Order?"
Whether you're content with a small salad, want to chow down on a big steak, or have a few drinks to unwind, you're entitled to order what you please. But have you ever gone on a date before where your date has tried to dictate what you eat?
It happened to one woman, and she's shared the bizarre story on Reddit where it's now gone viral.
The Reddit Post
Reddit user elkatiuskas recently shared her first date story from hell to the TwoXChromosomes subreddit, where the post has so far been upvoted over 44,000 thousand times.
She begins the post by explaining that she met a man during a coworker's BBQ and he later asked her out on a date. The pair decide to go to a steakhouse that the man has been wanting to check out.
Salads And Steaks
When the waitress came by to take their orders, the man orders himself a tomahawk steak and two sides. When it comes time for the woman to place her order, the man instead interjects and says, "the lady will have a salad".
"My jaw dropped," she writes. "I told him I didn't know if he was joking or maybe trying to be 'gentleman-like' but I can order myself whatever I decide to eat."
True Colors
Her date explains that he expects women to take care of themselves, adding that eating 100 grams of fat in one meal is "not feminine".
"You're very hot but this is a red flag for me. I know women who look like you and the moment they land a man they let themselves go. I don't want to be 50 and married to a fatty. That's why men cheat," he says.
Making A Scene
The woman says that the whole encounter was incredibly offensive, but that the absurdity of it, including how full of himself he was, was so ridiculous that she couldn't help but burst out laughing.
She explains that at this point, patrons were starting to notice. The waitress maintained a professional demeanor, but she was unamused by his behavior, while an elderly couple was nearby in which a woman stared "daggers" into him.
A Bitcoin Bro
In response, the woman called his behavior off-putting but then thanked him for revealing who he truly was.
Her date says that he didn't have to apologize for knowing what he wants in a woman. As she got up to leave, he says that he has Bitcoin and that she'll never have the opportunity to "snatch" a man like him again. She replies, "that's the idea" and then leaves.
The Last Laugh
In a post update, the woman says that the entire date only lasted ten minutes, but, it did have a happy ending. After her nightmarish encounter, the woman drove to her sister's home, ate a home-cooked meal, and then watched a movie with her nieces.
"I'm in stitches," she writes. "I know he uses the Reddit finance subs so chances are he might be reading this since it's getting so many upvotes."
