Health Class Might Be Part Of The Reason Our Hook-Up Culture Is A Raging Dumpster Fire

Who remembers health class in school? It feels like we all took it for a really long time, but how much did any of us really know about sex when we left high school? Some of us were already having sex—which is fine, to each their own—but there were people who still didn't understand that it could get you pregnant! We all know at least one person from high school who had a baby.

Could it be that our lack of knowledge has also made us terrible partners and bad at dating? Maybe.

Where Did This Idea Even Come From?

I would have guessed people would think of using plastic bags before aluminum foil, because that just sounds a bit painful and honestly uncomfortably noisy and complicated. There would be no stealth sex with aluminum foil condoms.

What Does That Even Mean?

Imagine that being the only thing that you knew about sex all through school? And then you start doing some research on your own and find out that no one wants theirs to be called a pinky.

Imagine being a teenager thinking that you were going to die, that you were actually going die. So much so that you made a will for your mom, probably telling her not to give anything to your siblings.

What she probably heard was women talking about wanting to have their vagina removed during PMS because it's literally just a long and terrible two weeks that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy.

Men will never stop talking about how much it hurts to get punched in the balls. They're always quoting weird stats at you, too, about how it is as painful as childbirth.

The better question is, is this young man sure that that's something he would want? Tacos are delicious, but are they a sexy-tasting food? I'm not so sure that they are.

That's how far removed some of us were when we were in health class as children. We thought it made sense that peanut butter would be coming out of a woman.

Where Do They Get These Ideas?

Does this kid hang out with the aluminum foil kid? Because that would make sense. I still don't think that it would cause a fire, but at least that would make more sense as a question in general.

No Words For This One

How would you even begin explaining that to the people in your life who would need to know about that information? Do you start with your parents or just go right to the head of your church?

I'm going to go with "worse," because this time it's the dog, and being pregnant by a dog makes even less sense? Or does it? Now I've gotten myself really confused about all of this.

It's obviously good that he felt like he could ask questions about it, but where do these kids get these ideas from? If people got stuck in other people, I feel like it's something you'd hear about.
