Women Don’t Care About These Insecurities—But Men Do
It's not just women who feel insecure about themselves sometimes. Men do too—they're just often not as vocal about it.
The irony in both situations is that those insecurities don't matter to other people as much as they matter to you. Women really don't care about how tall a man is if they're already attracted to him.
Getting Sweaty During Intimate Moments
"Getting sweaty during sex. I had a bf that always felt so bad if any sweat dripped onto me and I was always like ????? I literally don't care keep going." —boopedydoop / Reddit
Men, rest assured that women enjoy intimacy just as much as you do. While it's happening, the fact that we know you're giving it your all and sweating it out is more than fine by us.
The Awkward Duck
"Being awkward sometimes or doing something embarrassing. I somehow find this more appealing than guys who never seem embarrassed or are extremely confident." —Zekumi / Reddit
Just be yourself. We don't want to be dating the player who pretends to be confident to play with our feelings.
A Bald Head
"Baldness. There are plenty of hot men that are bald." —TastyLemonCunt123 / Reddit
Have you heard of The Rock? Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was named 2016's Sexiest Man Alive despite being bald, so you have nothing to worry about
Being Rich Is More Than Dollar Bills
"Money. I've seen a few guys try to act like they have money to burn in order to impress their dates (me included) but then not be able to pay the bills at the end of the month. Honestly, I'll take stability and honesty over a fancy dinner any day." —EchoFoxAlpha / Reddit
Money isn't a determinant of who we want to date. Rather, we want to be someone who knows how to take care of themselves and prioritize.
A Man Who Cries
"Showing their emotions. Turns out a lot of guys can't even cry, because at a young age males are told 'boys don't cry' 'man up'" —Co11eenxx / Reddit
Believe it or not, some women actually find it more attractive when a man is in tune with his feelings and shows emotional intelligence rather than bottle everything in.
Bellies And Love Handles
"I personally love seeing the hips on a guy, and a soft belly is nice to touch and rest on. I like hugging my love from behind and I want to stretch my fingertips right up under that shirt." —sclerogue / Reddit
Maybe some traits are attractive to some women more than others. That still also means that while some women like muscles, plenty also love all other types.
Height
"How tall they are. I don't care if you're 7ft or barely 5ft, what's annoying is a guy who has a problem that he's whatever height." —Midiblye / Reddit
There's no point lying about your height in your dating profile because we'll be able to tell the second we see you. Rather than show you're untrustworthy, just own it.
A Little Extra Hair
"Hair on their chest or arms. It's there, yeah, and no one cares." —Pileofbrokenkeys / Reddit
It's not like we don't get hair on our legs and arms—among many other places, too. If anything, we're envious that you're not expected to shave it all off like we do even though it grows back the next day.
Mr. Know It All
"Being the best. Smartest, toughest, funniest. It's better to be individual with your niche interests, looks, sense of humor rather than try to be the brightest. Also, it's more attractive to acknowledge the success of your friends than to talk about their shortcomings." —fkiziey1 / Reddit
As long as you're open to growth and learning, you really don't need to know everything to be the best at it.
Coming Off As Nerdy
"Don't worry about coming off as nerdy or brainy—please think for yourself and enjoy your hobbies. We actually dig someone with passion, and honestly being able to hold conversation with depth is delicious. Extra points on sarcasm, wit, and humor." —goddessofwitches / Reddit
Intelligence is actually quite attractive. Looks only go so far.
Graying Hair
"My 32-year-old husband is currently freaking out because he has 'so many' (it's not that many), gray hairs. I couldn’t care less. I think he’s still just as handsome and I really don’t see what the big deal is." —Smoky-The-Beer / Reddit
Aging shouldn't be a source of insecurity. It's just a natural part of life. We just want someone to grow old with.
High-Pitched Voices
"My ex hated his voice, he thought it was too high. I don't even notice voice pitches. But he let it put a fake divide between us which is why we broke up. High voices are cute! Deep voices are cute! All voices are perfect!" —FuzzyOwlFeet / Reddit
It doesn't matter how it sounds, what truly matters is what you say.
Big Biceps
"My husband is way too worried about how big his biceps are. He was a really skinny kid (our son is the same way) so I think he always just wanted to be the big tough guy. Well now he's got muscles and he’s constantly asking me what I think of them. I mean, dude, I’m into you no matter what size your biceps." —mom_of_the_year / Reddit
Spoiler alert, the size of your biceps has nothing to do with how big of a man or how tough you are.
Stretch Marks And Scars
"I couldn't care less. I have them also. Oatmeal cream pies have stretch marks and no one turns them down!" —ariluvxoxo / Reddit
Scars and stretch marks are just proof of existence. They show that you have lived a good a long life and that your skin has adapted with you.
Dad Bods Are Like Teddy Bears
"Dad bod? Literally my favorite thing ever. Best hugs, incredible cuddles. Absolutely unmatched." —afrogal / Reddit
Who doesn't want a comforting adult size teddy bear to hug and squeeze for comfort? Plus, this is a teddy bear that you can converse with!
Not Having A Six Pack
"Not having abs. Most girls I know couldn't care less." —fraaluu / Reddit
We just want you to be happy and healthy. The rest is your choice. If you're super into fitness and diets, go for it. If you prefer satisfying your cravings every once in a while, that's okay too.
Have You Heard Of Moobs?
"Moobs are man boobs. When I was a young man, I used to lift weights and I built up a hefty set of pectorals. Then I got married, old and overweight. Now I'm divorced, 200 lbs, and have these moobs." —Surealestateguy / Reddit
Bodies are expected to change with age, environment, and circumstances.
Being Too Skinny
"My husband is thin and thinks it makes him look unattractive but I love it. I much prefer the very slender form where the different parts of the body flow organically and smoothly into each other. Each person is going to have a different preference, so don’t be self-conscious." —skundrik / Reddit
Some worry about dad bods and some worry about being too thin, but there is a woman out there who appreciates you regardless.
Adult Acne
"Women get it too, and we aren't gonna judge you for having it, as most men don’t wear makeup so they have no way of covering it up. I actually find it attractive, but that’s probably just because I have it too." —Grannywalrus / Reddit
We were all teenagers at some point. Think of acne like stretch marks or scars, they're just a body's natural reaction to change.
Lack Of Facial Hair
"A lot of women like clean-shaven men anyway. Even if your facial hair is patchy, plenty of women do not care about it." —DaddyKaren / Reddit
You can't win. Some men worry about too much hair, some about not enough. When it comes to criticizing ourselves, we're our own worst enemies. Just be yourself and the right woman will love you as you are.
