Peak 2020 Romance Is This Guy Who Sent A Drone With His Phone Number To Girl Dancing On Roof
It's 2020, we're all quarantined, and we're all furiously swiping right on Tinder just to talk to someone new. Even though, before, I was perfectly happy to die alone, now that the government is mandating that I stay away from people, I all of a sudden miss human interaction? Who am I?
Brooklyn-based photographer Jeremy Cohen found a workaround to this yearning we all feel when he saw a girl dancing on the roof next to his apartment. And a social distancing-romance quickly unfolded.
This Is Jeremy, Jeremy Lives In A Brooklyn Apartment
This is bachelor Jeremy. He's a photographer based in Brooklyn, and like many responsible New Yorkers, he's holed up in his apartment right now staying the heck away from other people.
This Is Jeremy's View From Said Apartment (As You See, There Are Many Buildings)
Any good love story begins with a view from an apartment balcony. Remember Romeo and Juliet? Actually, wait, that's not a good example. The point is, while he's quarantined, Jeremy spends a lot of time looking out from said apartment onto the roofs of other buildings.
He Noticed A Girl Dancing On Her Roof (I Think We Can Assume It Was A Tik Tok)
Jeremy noticed this girl who was dancing on her roof, and if she's like the rest of us and bored out of her skull, it's a fair guess to say she was doing the Tik Tok renegade challenge, Meg Thee Stallion Savage dance, or Doja Cat's "Say So" choreo. That's just simple investigative journalism.
So Obviously, He Was Entraced By Her Moves And Decided To Make His Own
Like any good modern Prince Charming, Jeremy's not gonna let a couple of walls keep their love locked down like their responsible bodies. So Jeremy decided to dip into his photographer skillset the only way he knew how (after saying "hi" of course, because otherwise, that's a little creepy).
This Man Attached His Number To A Freaking DRONE And Flew It Over
Just think about your boyfriend who only texts you back once every three business days. He's no Jeremy. Jeremy would fly a freaking piece of expensive equipment over to you to reach out.
Just Look At How Excited She Is
I would be excited, too, if I was living out a real-life Rapunzel story. Except if Rapunzel lived in Brooklyn, the evil step-mother keeping her inside was a global emergency, and Prince Charming was a dude who saw her doing Tik Tok dances. So...same thing, really.
She Obviously Texted Him Back
When a literal robot descends from the sky with a phone number in the middle of your "Say So" body roll, you can't just ghost the person behind it. Which, Jeremy probably knew anyway.
So, Meet Tori. Tori Lives In A Brooklyn Apartment
You guessed it, Tori's the girl from the roof and our modern-day queen of social distancing and Tik Tok dancing. After dropping off its precious numerical cargo, the drone flew back to Jeremy and the two continued to chat.
A Couple Days Later, Jeremy Worked Up The Courage To Ask Tori Out
Clearly, the pair hit it off over text, so naturally, Jeremy asked her out. But there was one small problem...they couldn't really meet and grab dinner in person. With the cheap noodle place around the corner off the table as the spot, Jeremy got creative.
So They Set Up A Dinner
With the help of Tori's roommate, Jeremy orchestrated a surprise rooftop dinner date for the two of them. At 5 o'clock sharp, the two of them FaceTimed and ate their "microwaved" dinners together. Cheers to that adorableness.
...And He Yelled Compliments At Her
No date is complete without some flirtatious speaking, so of course Jeremy's gonna compliment her on her choice of attire for the evening...by yelling 60 feet. I would love to know if any of his neighbors thought he was talking to them.
Cheers To A Quarantine Romance!
The pair had a great time on their date, and Jeremy even snapped some lovely photos of Tori enjoying herself. So stay inside, be safe, and watch some cute freaking Disney movies (or watch Tori and Jeremy, because it's the same thing).
