Men Are Sharing The Most Annoying Things That Other Men Do

Most women could likely go on for days about their favorite faults in the opposite sex. You know the ones: "men are slobby," "men have the worst egos," "they can't do anything for themselves," etc.

While I'm strictly against pigeon-holing "all men" or "all women," there are some general personality traits and behaviors that are fairly disliked across the board. The best way to sort out which ones are truly accurate for men is to ask people who spend the most time with them—other men.

A Reddit user asked the popular r/AskReddit sub, with a community of nearly 33 million users, "Men of Reddit, what pisses you off most about other men?"

The post received over 24k comments within the first 48 hours, mostly filled with men sharing their least favorite personality traits, behaviors, and overall characteristics of the other men in their lives.

Replying to this answer, user ginthatsdeeptoki said: "[Man is] acting like we best friends for a couple of hours then few girls join and suddenly he's roasting my hair loss." Ouch! Heads up, guys, putting down other people isn't attractive.

One user, Sad-Information-4713, said that for him it's "the guys who have to be the alpha. They usually start asserting their dominance when they give you a handshake that turns your knuckles white. Then it progresses to invading your personal space while puffing their chest out. Insecure losers."

Some experts call this behavior "peacocking." It's a behavior that some men do to try to assert their strengths in order to stand out from any possible competition.

Men Who Can't Take A Hint When Women Are Not Interested

Shiro_no_Orpheus says he can't stand "guys that behave desperately around women and won't stop hitting on them even if they clearly aren't interested."

The fact that some men are so persistent and will not accept rejection to the point that it actually makes other men uncomfortable says a lot about how the woman must feel. This is a great example of why it's so important for men to call out harassment whenever they see it.

A comment left by InVodkaVeritas says: "The guys who keep getting slightly louder than you, cutting you off, and making subtle digs at you to cut you down are the absolute worst human beings to socialize with."

The post finished off with: "At least the overt a**holes are obvious."

He added: "In the same vein, guys who can't go out for drinks without picking a fight." People were quick to agree with his comments.

Right_Syllabub_8237: "The creepy and inappropriate questions and comments the older men make to the young bartenders where I work."

As a former female bartender, I can confirm this is definitely an ongoing issue. Just because we pour your beer does not mean we want to give you "a little hug goodbye."

Redditor readit1000times says, "Men who refer to themselves as 'Alpha.'" I'm going to be honest, I had no clue that any real living breathing men actually said this, but the comment received 16k upvotes so I can imagine it's relatable.

In response, user nucleurchickenman jokes: "I'm a Pi male, I'm just 3.14 times better than any other male."

Ethereal_Omni shares that for him, it's "dudes who would rather put you down for not knowing every single detail about something rather than genuinely trying to help teach others and spread information. And if they do manage to give a hell to help, they for whatever reason have to have this demeaning, belittling tone."

His post racked up over 20k upvotes of support. Directly responding, DriftingPsycho said: "I'm not into sports. When I tell other guys that they look at me like I just came from Mars."

Commenter Tropical_Geek1 commented: "I just hate some men who, when in a group, keep trying to establish dominance. They usually do that by being loud, interrupting people, and laughing at you, instead of laughing with you."

Following up, he added: "On the flip side, some guys can command the respect of a group without even seeming to try. They are respectful and polite, don't need to raise their voices, and know how to earn the respect of others. These are naturals, and guys (at least in my experience) tend to enjoy their company."

It's pretty well-known that the people with the most money are the least likely to tell you about it. Remember those kids who used to incessantly brag about having the nicest clothes, toys, and shoes? They grew up to brag about their houses, cars, and lawnmowers.

Ohbuck1965 writes that for him, it's when men are "not standing up to be a father to their children, absent dads. Saying oh I have to babysit my kids. No! You are parenting your children while the mother is out or away."

Absent father figures can massively impact a child's life, so we have to agree with Ohbuck1965 on this one.
