Viral Experiment Has Twitter Users Sending Their Moms Cheesy Selfies
Moms will always be our biggest fans. It doesn't matter what we do, or how well we do it, our moms will always make us feel like we did the best we could and they love us for it.
Someone on Twitter decided to put this theory to the test and devised an experiment.
Her Idea Was Simple
People would send selfies to their moms and the hypothesis was that their moms would love the picture no matter what. Sounds like a pretty safe bet, right? That's where you might be wrong.
The Experiment Mostly Went As Planned
Most of the moms were like this one, just really excited to see their child's face and filled with lots of love to share, which is what you'd probably expect.
Some Moms Didn't Respond As Expected
What exactly does a person with mumps look like? Because this just looks like an ordinary person. Nice that she clarified the mumps were a disease, in case anyone didn't know.
This Mom Speaks Some Truth
This mom is clever. She sees right through the sham that is most social media. This should have been a social experiment into how well our moms understand what we get up to.
This Mom Decided To Share Some News
Maybe this was one of those situations where just as she was sending her selfie, her mom was sending her the news and the texts sent at the exact same time.
This Mom Is All About The Heart Eyes
This person's mom actually took the selfie her daughter sent and posted it to Instagram with a cute caption about how beautiful she is and how much she loves her.
This Mom Didn't Have To Roast Him So Badly
How long did she have this on her chest? She had that locked and loaded and ready to go when she saw that selfie. At least she did give the typical mom response, and that she will love him always, even if he doesn't have Justin Bieber's hair.
Some Moms Were Not So Nice
This mom told her son that he looked just like his father. His parents are divorced and maybe not on the best of terms. What is he supposed to make of that?
Some Moms Had Other Things They Needed Addressing
If your mom needs some information from you, they're going to get it, even if you are trying to run an experiment on them. At least this mom came around eventually.
This Mom Was Too Sweet
She texted her son back later to say that she got a selfie from his sister as well! They must follow the same people on Twitter. Or they conspired together.
Everyone's A Critic
She does look a bit stiff, though. But how many selfies do you see of parents on Facebook where they look super uncomfortable and like they have no idea what they're doing?
Some Moms Were Kind Of Mean?
I'm sure there is more here than we see but why does something have to be wrong if she's happy? Maybe she's just excited about chatting with her mom!
This Mom Might Have Had The Best Reponse
She responded to her daughter's selfie with her own selfie. That's the only way to exchange information! I'm going to assume that that lovely smile means she loved her daughter's photo.
Some Were To The Point
Maybe she's not a woman of many words... but I'm not sure what we are supposed to take from yes. Yes, this is a great selfie? Yes, that is what you look like?
This Mom Was Onto Us
She knows what we are up to! Quick, everyone abort!! In any social experiment, you might end up with one or two people who figure out what's going on that kind of ruins the moment.
Oh Wow
This mom might be the most savage mom the Twitter thread has seen. There was no need for this. She's probably just salty about it because she knows her daughter got that chin from her.
Other Moms Knew They Passed Down Their Best Genes
Obviously anything cute about someone comes from their mom! Moms are the cutest people in the world. Followed only by grandparents and maybe Baby Yoda, but he isn't a person so...
This Mom Didn't Hold Back
His photo looks like he knew that response was coming before he even sent the selfie. Maybe he had suspicions all along and he didn't want to know the truth, but now he does.
Do They Not Smile Otherwise?
I hope this mom is OK, having a broken rib is probably very painful. Unless she means that she broke her rib from laughing too hard, which is just rude.
This Mom Was Very Polite
Overall, the experiment went as expected. The moms of Twitter users were loving and supportive, if not a little strange at times. If there is one thing we can take away from this it's that moms will always be honest. Let's put it like that.
